The best way to reach me is through email: [email protected]
Parents: In all correspondence I do my best to provide a timely reply. Occasionally, scheduling a meeting is preferable to a string of emails. If that's the case, due to an afternoon schedule that includes divisional and departmental meetings, as well as coaching duties, a before school meeting is preferable. I am always at school early. If you'd like to meet, please contact me through my CFA email or through the email provided above.
Regarding student absences, we encourage students to advocate for themselves and, as much as possible, take ownership of their 6th Grade experience. As a result, if there is a planned absence such as an upcoming family trip or event, or a scheduled outside appointment, I prefer an email reminder from the student. In the case of unplanned absences, however, an update from parents is really quite helpful. It's always a good idea to c.c. the front desk regarding absences as well.
Students: Occasionally, you may need to contact me outside of school hours. All of your teachers really want you to practice advocating for yourself this year. Because of that, I welcome your questions and comments. However, I also want you to be resourceful. Instructions for assignments are posted online. You should make it a practice to always read instructions before posing a question about an assignment. Additionally, when you have questions about assignments or due dates, I want you to think of classmates as partners. Together, you can achieve so much.
There are a few reasons that you should always contact me. If you know of a planned family trip or event, please let me know the dates you will be away. Because so much of your completed work will be posted online, adjustments to due dates may not be necessary. Depending on the specific circumstances of your absence, however, we may need to communicate about assignment expectations.
