Group Work Roles & Responsibilities
Because learning how to collaborate is so important, remember that we spent class time learning about the different roles that need to be filled each time your group comes together. Use this page as a daily reminder for what the responsibilities are for each “role,” and do your best to fulfill those responsibilities. When everyone takes their role seriously, the group succeeds. And, success is FUN!

Caliph (kah-LEEF) = Caravan Leader (For the day)
- Keep the group on track.
- Solve problems or get help.
- Check the team’s work for the day.
- Substitute when needed.
- Timekeeper.
- Collect group’s materials at end of day and store them for the next time you meet.
- Make sure that all supplies are cared for properly and put away at the end of the day.
- Manage Daily Caravan Budget and make sure that all caravan members’ passports are filled out correctly – including stamps upon the completion of each activity.
- Technology point person.
- Encourage Caravan members.
