What You Need:
- Two pieces of felt. Each piece should be 14” X 16”
- Pointed hat template (You can get these from me in class.).
- Pen or chalk and scissors
- Needle and yarn or twine thread
Directions:
- Fold one square of felt lengthwise.
- Place the hat template onto the felt with the long, straight edge of the template matched to the folded side of your felt.
- Trace the template pattern in chalk and use your scissors to cut out your felt.
- Repeat steps 1 & 2 to produce a second cut piece of felt.
- Unfold the two pieces of felt and place on top of each other. Leave a 1/4” seam allowance and stitch the edges together along both sides. A “whip-stitch” is best (See images below).
- Fold up the bottom 2 inches of the hat. Sew the seam on the outside of the hat.
- Enjoy!
